Expertise and practical experience
The MYR team has a range of skills and experiences reflecting the diverse nature of risk management and the breadth of our services. Our core competencies are effective communication, analysis and problem solving. Each team member specialises in one or more of MYR’s risk management disciplines.
Our team comprises the core team and specialist consultants who work on a project by project basis to provide greater depth of relevant expertise when required. The core team includes consultants and consultant support roles. MYR’s core consulting team includes:
John McVeigh is MYR’s Managing Director. Qualified in law and economics, John established MYR in 2000. John has worked in risk management for 15 years. He has 6 years litigation experience and worked for 5 years in professional indemnity insurance broking. He develops strategy and directs the development of risk management programs and specialises in ERM and PSRM programs.
Ray Mattholie is MYR’s international Chairman. After a long association with MYR as risk manager of Jardine Matheson, Ray joined MYR in 2007. With 40 years experience in risk management in Europe, Asia and North America, and many years as Risk Manager of British Telecom, Ray brings a wealth of expertise and experience to MYR in insurance and general risk management.
David Nixon is a senior consultant to MYR, responsible for guiding service delivery standards and business development in Australia. David’s extensive construction and mining engineering experience gained over 40 years as a principal of Signet Engineering and Fluor in Western Australia, provides a sound basis for advising project teams on planning execution strategies.
Cameron Hay has worked with MYR since 2002 but joined full time in 2005. He is qualified in law and spent 8 years in Japan prior to joining MYR. He facilitates a range of corporate, professional, operational and project risk reviews. He has overall responsibility for delivering compliance and business continuity management programs.
Nick de Bueger has been a consultant with MYR since 2002. He has a Bachelor of Science. Nick has extensive experience in project risk management, having facilitated a broad range of risk, range estimate and constructability reviews on major projects. He also has responsibility for health and safety risk management programs.
Ciro Olivares has been a senior consultant since 2006. He has 20 years experience in systems analysis, design and implementation, process improvement, business continuity, information security and risk assessment. He is responsible for supply chain programs.
